As 2023 is drawing to a close, it's amazing to look back on the progress we've made this year...

At the onset of 2023, we had the highest number of enrollments, and we saw the first group of Students become official Chickasaw Online Language Arts Alumni!
COMPREHENSION STUDENTS COMPLETE LEVEL 4
It was amazing to see the first group of advanced students, complete the final level of Chickasaw for Comprehension. They've been hard at work, dedicated to the learning process, and have made tremendous progress over the last 4 years. They have learned to communicate with the most complex forms of constructing sentences, and jumped over every major Chickasaw Language hurdle. Not only can they hold conversations in Chickasaw, they've also acquired advanced reading skills, even creating several of their own. Many of them, also completed all 4 levels of Grammar Live. They are the first official Chickasaw Online Language Arts Alumni. I couldn't be prouder!
2023 HAD HIGHEST ENROLLMENTS TO DATE
We had 54 student enrollments across 4 courses this year!
This year we offered four live courses; Grammar Live Level 1-2, two groups of Chickasaw for Comprehension Level 1, and one group of Chickasaw for Comprehension Level 4. We always have to set a class size limits to effectively teach in the live online setting, but in January, we were working double time, processing all the new students coming in. It was so rewarding to participate in the vibrant conversations that accompanied this large group.
To top off the year, many of us were able to fly in from around the country, and internationally, to attend the Chickasaw Festival, and meet up for our 9th Annual gathering for lunch. It was so fun to actually meet in person, and enjoy the camaraderie.
THIS YEAR WAS GOLDEN!
"Not only did we have 54 student enrollments, but we also saw the 53rd group of students go through my classes!" ...Sherrie Begay (Course Instructor)
I started teaching live online courses back in 2015, but I almost have to pinch myself, when I think that I've just completed teaching my 53rd group of students. It's crazy, but that's how it goes when you put your mind to something, and just keep taking one step in front of the other.
If my Dad could see how far we've come, I'm sure he'd be blown away. During his lifetime, he continued to encourage me to keep learning Chickasaw. Just thanking God for all the progress, which wouldn't have been possible without His wisdom, help and direction.
NEW YEAR: ANOTHER MILESTONE
Next year, is another big milestone. It will be the 10th anniversary of my online classes! Amazing! I'd have to write a whole other blog post just to review all that has been accomplished over the last 9 years...let's look forward to that reflection. Thanks so much for being interested in our progress and sharing our journey. Hope to see you in 2024!
Wishing you all the best!
